Hello, I’m Judy

I am a newborn and family photographer in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. I specialise in maternity, newborn, baby and family portraits that are warm, modern and timeless. I love meeting families, watching them grow and creating photographs that become part of their home for years.

Where it all began

Photography became my passion in 2010, long before it became my career. Everything changed when my daughter Rose was born in 2018. She was tiny, and I wanted to capture every detail, but I was also nervous to let anyone else handle her. That moment pushed me to train professionally in newborn photography, so I could understand safe posing and care.

I completed one to one newborn training in 2019 and made newborn safety my priority from the very beginning. Every session is planned with your baby’s wellbeing and comfort at the centre.

Why I chose Aberystwyth
While researching photographers in our area, I realised there was a gap for luxury, styled family and newborn portraits. I wanted to bring something new to Aberystwyth, offering bespoke props, outfits and artwork that feel special and unique. My goal has always been simple, to help parents feel proud, cared for and excited about the artwork they take home.

Continual learning and recognition
I continue to improve my craft through workshops, training and industry events. I have invested in high quality equipment, styling and handmade props. My work has been recognised through professional photography societies, award wins and publication features.

A purpose-built studio
I work from a beautiful studio created with Becky Hill Photography. It was built specifically for our newborn and family sessions and is located at Newman’s Garden Centre in Capel Dewi, just outside Aberystwyth. It is a calm, comfortable space designed for babies, children and families.

What I love most
Creating portraits that feel like art, not just photographs. Whether the styling is minimal or creative, I care about the details, the safety of your baby and the experience you have in the studio. Every session is designed to celebrate your family in a way that feels genuine, beautiful and personal to you.
